More Baha’is arrested in Iran

At least six Baha’i followers were arrested in the cities of Gorgan, Kashan and Shiraz in Iran in the first week of June. The Baha’i International Community in Geneva has confirmed the news of the arrests of these Baha’is in Iran, adding that an additional nine Baha’is were arrested about three weeks ago, further confirming criticism by the United Nations Special Rapporteur on Human Rights in Iran, Asma Jahangir, who highlighted “widespread discrimination against Baha’is” in Iran.
