Persecuted Iranian homosexual in need of asylum

Amir Shokrgozar, who was persecuted in Iran for being a homosexual, fled from Iran. He is now in danger of execution if he is forced to return to Iran. He has sought asylum in Italy and Iceland, but both have denied his request. He is now engaged to an Icelandic man but will be deported because Icelandic laws require “proof of marital status from their home country” which is impossible to obtain from Iran.
