Iranian woman facing death for holding a class and translating a book

Marjan Davari was sentenced to death for holding a class and translating a book about Eckankar. She was arrested in 2015 and is currently being held in Gharchak Varamin Prison. In February 2017, she was transferred to this prison from Evin’s women’s ward. Along with her, two others were also sentenced to death for expressing opinions. Sina Dehghan was also sentenced to death for posting comments against Islam on LINE instant messaging app. He was only 19 years old when this happened. He was also tricked into signing confessions. According to article 262 of Iran’s Islamic Penal Code insulting the prophet is punishable by death.
