Internet and social media under attack in Iran

Iranian authorities are increasing their crackdown on the internet and on social media. Just last week, they blocked or shut down another 14,000 websites and have hacked into some social media platforms, namely the very popular app. Telegram, in order to monitor, identify, block and arrest anyone who is thought to promote content that is “against the religion and ethics” and are cooperating with ” foreign channels and hostile networks” which are “attacking” Iran and “targeting Iran’s religious and national values.
