Iranian spiritual leader missing after slipping into coma following hunger strike in jail

Mohammad Ali Taheri is an Iranian spiritual leader who was imprisoned in Iran for a series of political charges including “insulting the sacred”, “immoral contact with women”, “carrying out illegal medical procedures”, “blasphemy” and spreading “corruption on earth”. He went on hunger strike and since October 16th, the only thing that is known is that he slipped into a coma. During his hunger strike, he was taken by the IRGC for “interrogation” and was forced to “confess” although it seems he refused to do so. The Iranian authorities are not divulging any information and many of his supporters believe that he is now dead.
