Posting jokes on facebook sent this Iranian man to jail for 5.5 years

This is Soheil Babadi. He was a computer engineer who posted a series of jokes about the regime in Iran in 2011. In 2012, he was arrested and charged with “insulting the sacred” and “insulting the President”. He was tortured, placed in solitary confinement for 225 days, accused of having sex with his sister in law and homosexuals and beaten. His sentence? 5.5 years in jail, 74 lashes and 2 years in exile. He has been waiting for over a year for his appeal, was denied bail and is denied medical treatment.
