Iranians with dual nationalities living abroad, especially in Western countries, should be worried about visiting their homeland. Homa Hoodfar, a Canadian-Iranian professor went to Iran to visit her family there. She was called in by the authorities for repeated interrogations and was finally arrested last week just two days before she was supposed to head back to Canada. The charges are still vague and she is being denied access to a lawyer and Canadian diplomats. Her arrest comes at delicate point in time since prime minister Trudeau has called for a renewal of diplomatic relationship between Canada and Iran.
