The IRGC imprisons the brother of a journalist living in France

Since last November, the IRGC has cracked down on Iranian journalists who were suspected of aiding “foreign infiltration” through cooperation with Western media.

The charges usually focused on such vague crimes such as spreading propaganda, colluding to harm national security etc…but the real reason for imprisonment is always as a manner to shut up journlists who may be critical of the receipt.

But what happens when a journalist critical of Iran lives in France? Arrest his brother, of course. That’s what happened to Davoud Assadi, the brother of  Houshag Asaddi who was sentenced to five years in jail for “crimes” he wasn’t even close to committing since he is not even a journalist but a marketing manager of a private firm.
